Registered Dietitian & Certified Diabetes Education Specialist

Ashya Walden is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Education Specialist
dedicated to helping people be their best. Her path to Fresh Essence LLC started as a
teenager, when she discovered her desire to own a private practice. In April of 2020, Fresh Essence LLC opened its doors, years after her education in medical science, dietetics, organizational management and diabetes management.

Ashya possesses over 10 years of experience, working with patients in the areas of DSME/T (Diabetes Self Management Education and Training), MNT ( Medical Nutrition Therapy), food sensitivities, food allergies, meal prep, and planning, weight management and general nutrition education. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at Keiser University, her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science at Michigan State University and her Masters of Arts in Organizational Management at Ashford University.

Prior to forming Fresh Essence LLC, Ashya’s professional experiences include:

• Working as an outpatient dietitian for a large hospital system
• Creating the dietitian workflow for a comprehensive diabetes program
• Collaborating with doctors, nurse care managers, and pharmacist to assist
  chronically ill patients with managing their conditions
• Assisting patients with elimination diets
• Partnering with local businesses to teach wellness classes to their patrons
• Working with university researchers to study at-risk populations.

As the owner and operator of Fresh Essence LLC, Ashya is dedicated to offering attainable nutrition therapy to those who need it most. She is excited about the opportunity to continue to work with a vast variety of individuals, and she hopes she can assist you in meeting your health and wellness needs.
